Databases and job searches

I really like the library's Business and Research tab. I thought the Riley Guide was good, and I really like ODD JOB NATION. I was surprised at how current some of the listings are. In these economic times, I think that any job guidance is helpful.

Social Networking

 I took a first time look at Facebook. I am amazed at how many people have the exact same name! I myself have chosen not to venture into the world of Facebook or Twitter at this time. The phrase " SO MUCH TO DO, SO LITTLE TIME "  has played a major role in that decision! Overall, I think social networking does have many advandages. The library Facebook was good. I like that people can add book reviews.

Downloadables

I checked out the Greater Phoenix Digital Library. I found a couple of book titles that I am going to download. I browsed the music, the collection was ok not really great though. The overdrive FAQ sheet was really useful.

wiki's

I found the information about wiki's to be very interesting. I found the whole concept of the final content on a subject representing a general consensus to be  very interesting. It runs contrary to the old school mentality of information being a finite thing handed down to us. I think the idea of a library coordinating a community wiki is worth looking into.

7 1/2 lifelong learning habits

Interesting tutorial. Pretty common sense stuff. The hardest habit for me is the one about viewing problems as challenges, good in theory but hard to do. I would say attitude and confidence are pretty key issues toward lifelong learning.
